International Conference “Embracing Neurodiversity: Focus on Autism” is being organized by SOPAN’s Suvidya College of Special Education run by Society of Parents of Children with Autistic Disorders (SOPAN). The conference aims to provide an opportunity for the stakeholders in the field of neurodiversity to come together and share their expertise and experiences.  

The objectives of the conference:
  1. To raise awareness about the neurodiversity paradigm and its implication in education, workplace and community.
  2. To share research, innovative practices and success stories supporting neurodiversity.
  3. To build networks amongst stakeholders advocating for inclusive policies and services.
  4. To recommend needed changes and modifications in existing educational policies and provisions available for neurodivergent learners in India.

The 3- day conference will include a day of preconference workshops followed by 2 days of main conference.

RCI CRE status for the conference acquired.

Participants are encouraged to attend the 3-day conference. However, the option to attend only the pre-conference workshop on day 1 or to attend the main conference on the remaining 2 days is available.

Call for Papers  

Scientific papers based on thematic and empirical studies are invited for presentation.

While the broader theme for presentations will be Neurodiversity, papers may be submitted on the following subthemes:

  •  Therapeutic Intervention
  •  Early Childhood Intervention
  •  Teaching Strategies
  •  Social Inclusion and Inclusive Education
  •  Technology in Education
  •  Adulthood Issues
  •  Skill Development and Employment
  •  Human Resource Development

Papers will be peer reviewed by the scientific committee. Selected papers will be invited for presentation and published in a peer reviewed journal with ISSN number.

Special Provision: Registered Ph.D. scholars may avail the facility to only present and publish their papers without attending the full conference. 

A fee of Rs 2000/- is applicable for presentation and publication of the paper. For every additional author Rs 1000/- will be charged.
