Samagraha Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA)
SSA is an effort by the central and state governments to achieve the goal of eliminatinggender disparities in education and ensure equal access to all levels of education and vocational training for the vulnerable, including persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples and children in vulnerable situations by 2030.
Samagraha Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA ) therapy unit at SOPAN was started in the year 2018 to provide free and quality therapy services to all the children with neuro- developmental disablities, sensory concerns and speech delays to help them participate in the general education curriculum regardless of the socio-economic background.
Therapy services provided include:
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational therapy
- Speech therapy
Therapy services have helped the children improve their motor skills, cognitive skills, sensory regulation, communication and emotional well – being.
A total of around 150 children upto the age 14 from the nearby areas have enrolled in this project so far and have shown great improvement in this respective areas of difficulties. This collaboration is a significant initiative that is making a positive difference in the lives of special needs children as well as their parents and ensure that all children with disabilities reach their full potential and participate fully in the society.
